WHY BOTHER

A real keyboard is a hundred small decisions. The curve of a corner. The weight of a shadow. The 6-pixel gap between two keys. This page rebuilds *every* *single* *one* — in code, by hand.

01 — THE FUNCTION ROW

Fourteen glyphs, drawn by hand.

Brightness, Mission Control, Spotlight, media keys — every icon is a tiny inline SVG, traced stroke by stroke. No fonts. No images.

02 — THE LEGENDS

Two labels, exactly where they belong.

Shifted symbols ride above their numbers, just like the real thing — down to the 9.5 pixel type and the 3 pixel gap between them.

03 — THE MODIFIERS

Glyphs you already know.

⌃ control, ⌥ option, ⌘ command — real Unicode marks over their names, with fn and its globe tucked in the corner.

V01 — THE FLAT ONE

Where it started.

Quiet flat caps, one soft shadow, sans-serif legends. A polite desk keyboard, drawn to disappear into the page.

V02 — THE INSTRUMENTCURRENT

Where it is now.

Round caps on dark tiles, orange LEDs, a step-sequencer for a function row. Less desk accessory, more studio hardware.

V03 — THE MECH

Where it’s going.

Sculpted two-tone caps with five pixels of travel over an exposed plate. Loud to look at — louder to imagine.

UNDER THE KEYCAPS

Built like
the real thing.

Every part of MK·78 is drawn rather than photographed — the caps, the legends, the light. Here is what that actually means.

Real key events

Every physical keystroke lights its on-screen twin — letters, modifiers, arrows, even the caps lock indicator.

Hand-drawn glyphs

Fourteen function-row icons traced as inline SVG strokes on an 11-pixel grid. No icon font, no sprite sheet.

Two finishes

Every colour lives in a CSS variable, so the whole instrument re-skins itself from a single class flip.

Rave reviews.
Zero keystrokes lost.

Why two hundred and change typists swear by a board that ships no switches, no cable and not a single real key — just pixels with travel. Keep scrolling to deal through the deck.
